Recognizes Baldwin County Deputy Sydney Victoria Wentworth as a nominee for the 2022 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage.

On June 6, 2021, Deputy Wentworth and the late Deputy Sheriff William Smith entered the Gulf of Mexico waters to rescue three distressed swimmers.

Deputy Wentworth successfully rescued one swimmer and brought them to safety; the two deputies, with assistance from the United States Coast Guard, saved three lives that day, though Deputy Smith did not survive.

Honors Deputy Wentworth for exemplifying the dedication and selfless service of law enforcement officers who risk their lives to protect citizens.
