Honors Dr. Patsy Parker for 25 years of service on the Opelika Industrial Development Board as of March 8, 2022.

Recognizes her career as an educator, including being the first black counselor at Opelika High School and inspiring thousands of students in Opelika schools and Southern Union State Community College.

Acknowledges her academic credentials: Bachelor of Science in Social Studies and Physical Education from Alabama State University, Master of Science in Counselor Education from Auburn University, and Doctorate of Humane Letters from Auburn University.

Celebrates her achievements including serving as the first female Chair of the Alabama State University Board of Trustees for over 28 years, organizing the first black sorority chapter of Delta Sigma Theta at Auburn, being named Woman of the Year in Opelika in 1991, and receiving the Opelika Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Service Award in 2016.

Dedicates the resolution to Dr. Parker with gratitude, admiration, and regard for her steadfast service and commitment to her community.
