Chi Alpha Epsilon Honor Society was founded in 1989 at West Chester University of Pennsylvania to recognize academic achievements of college students in access and support programs like TRIO Student Support Services

Membership requirements include a 3.0 GPA for the past two semesters, participation in access programs like TRIO Student Support Services, and full-time enrollment at a college or university

Miles College TRIO Student Support Services chartered the Eta Mu Chapter of Chi Alpha Epsilon Honor Society, the first chapter in Alabama, with a ceremony held on April 6, 2022, at Miles College Chapel in Brown Hall

The chapter was founded by Kerry Donnel Brackett (TRIO Retention Specialist) under the direction of Don Anthony Mosely (Director of TRIO) and Miles College President Bobbie Knight, with charter members including Delphine Backay, James Jones, Joshua Coleman, Qiana Williams, Octavia Calloway-Peters, Lasonya Clarke, Uche MgBodile, Tytianna Reese, Shontel Wyatt, and Shariah Shackelford

The Alabama House of Representatives celebrates the historical significance of this first Eta Mu Chapter in the state and congratulates the chapter with utmost admiration
