Big Oak Ranch was founded in 1974 by John Croyle to provide Christian homes and care to abused, neglected, and abandoned children.

The organization currently serves 170 children from seven states: Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Hawaii, Illinois, and Tennessee, an increase of 17 children from the previous year.

Big Oak Ranch addresses the needs of approximately 3.5 million children across the nation requiring intervention, offering healing, hope, and security to voiceless children in need.

The House of Representatives commends Big Oak Ranch for its tremendous service to the State of Alabama and to children in need of love, security, safety, and hope.
