Auburn University Singers are commended on their 50th anniversary, which began in 1972 when Dr. Tom Smith created the group as part of the Department of Choral Music at Auburn University.

The show choir includes singers and band members from various schools and colleges across campus and has performed throughout Alabama, nationally, and internationally in Western and Eastern Europe.

Dr. Tom Smith served as conductor for approximately 30 years until his retirement, and Dr. Dale Farmer, an original group member, currently conducts the ensemble with close to 1,000 alumni having participated over the years.

The House of Representatives dedicates this resolution to the Auburn University Singers with admiration and sincere best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.
