SB2 Summary

• Enacts the Alabama Second Amendment Protection Act prohibiting state and local officials from enforcing any presidential executive order that limits or restricts ownership, use, or possession of firearms, ammunition, or firearm accessories by law-abiding Alabama residents.

• Officials and agents cannot be ordered, directed, or compelled to execute or administer such executive orders when acting in an official capacity.

• Prohibits expenditure of state or local public funds for enforcement of federal executive orders restricting firearm ownership, use, or possession.

• Authorizes the Attorney General to issue guidance to state and local officials to ensure uniform compliance with the act.

• Effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
