Designates the first Friday in May of each year as Alabama Peace Officers' Memorial Day to honor law enforcement members killed in the line of duty.

Allows each county and municipality to elect to observe Alabama Peace Officers' Memorial Day as a holiday.

Notes that President John F. Kennedy declared May 15 as National Peace Officers' Memorial Day in 1962 and that the Alabama State Fraternal Order of Police has held an annual Fallen Officer Memorial Service on the south lawn of the State Capitol since 1983.

States that Alabama's Fallen Officer Memorial Service has honored 598 officers since its inception and provided comfort to families of fallen officers.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
