SB259 Summary

• Brewpub licensees may manufacture up to 10,000 barrels of beer annually and sell brewed beer on-premises unpacked or off-premises packaged (limited to 864 ounces per customer per day).

• Beer manufacturers selling no more than 60,000 barrels annually may have a financial interest in a brewpub, provided they purchase beverages from authorized wholesalers rather than transferring directly and may not have financial interests in other retailers.

• Manufacturers producing more than 60,000 barrels annually may have a financial interest in one brewpub located in a Class 1 municipality, with the off-premises sale limit reduced to 64 ounces per customer per day.

• Brewpub annual license fee is $1,000 and the establishment must operate a restaurant or provide food for consumption on premises.

• Act becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
