AL SB42

Prohibits condominium associations, homeowner's associations, and unit owners' associations from adopting or enforcing policies that restrict or prevent members from displaying the Alabama state flag on property where they have separate ownership interest or exclusive possession or use rights.

Allows reasonable restrictions on the time, place, or manner of flag display if necessary to protect a substantial interest of the association.

Defines condominium association, homeowner's association, and unit owners' association for purposes of the act.

Became effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
