SB61 Summary

• Authorizes the City Council of Albertville in Marshall County to establish one or more entertainment districts by ordinance, with defined boundaries, hours of operation, and regulations for licensed businesses.

• Permits retail alcohol licensees in entertainment districts to obtain an entertainment district permit allowing patrons to carry open containers of alcoholic beverages anywhere within the district boundaries.

• Prohibits patrons from entering another licensee's premises with open or closed containers of alcohol, and bars non-licensees from bringing any alcohol acquired outside the district into the entertainment district during operating hours.

• Requires the city to enforce the ordinance and provide penalties for violations as authorized by law.

• Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
