AL SB84

Authorizes members of the Prepaid Affordable College Tuition (PACT) Program board to participate in board and committee meetings via telephone conference, video conference, or similar communications equipment.

Requires virtual meeting technology to allow simultaneous public participation so members of the public can listen to or observe meetings.

Participation through authorized virtual means constitutes presence in person for all purposes, including establishment of quorum, deliberation, and taking action.

Requires all PACT board meetings and notice of meetings to comply with the Alabama Open Meetings Act, Section 36-25A-1 et seq.

Makes technical revisions to update existing code language to current style and becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
