Commends Dr. Jon D. Turner on his outstanding career in cardiology and retirement from Physician Care Elkton effective December 21, 2021.

Dr. Turner was born in Fayette, Alabama and completed his medical education at the University of Alabama and UAB, with internship and residency at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

In 1979, Dr. Turner moved to Huntsville and started the cardiovascular center that became the Heart Center; in 2016 he opened Physician Care Elkton in partnership with Huntsville Hospital to provide rural medical care.

Dr. Turner had a helipad installed at the clinic to quickly transport acutely ill patients to the hospital when practicing cardiology away from a major referral center.

The Legislature of Alabama honors and commends Dr. Turner for his tireless dedication and exceptional abilities, with Dr. Nancy Turner and Tiffany Peel continuing to provide care at the clinic.
