Commends Mr. Kelly Butler for his distinguished professional achievement and dedicated service upon his retirement as Alabama Finance Director on August 1, 2021.

Butler was appointed Director of the Alabama Department of Finance by Governor Kay Ivey on December 1, 2018, after serving as acting State Finance Director since August 15, 2018, serving as the state's Chief Financial Officer.

Butler has worked for the State of Alabama for over 30 years, including 19 years with the Legislative Fiscal Office as Senate Fiscal Officer and positions with the Alabama Department of Revenue as a revenue examiner and tax auditor.

Governor Kay Ivey stated Butler has been "the finest Finance Director to have ever served the State of Alabama" and described him as "the epitome of a dedicated public servant."

The Legislature of Alabama, in both houses concurring, honors and commends Butler for his many years of dedicated service to the state.
