Commends Mr. Bill Gilley for his recognition during the 2021 Alabama Agriculture Hall of Honor Banquet on September 16, 2021.

Recognizes Mr. Gilley's contributions to preventing the collapse of the poultry industry in the 1960s through disease control methods developed at Auburn University, including a procedure using turkey blood to protect baby chicks from Marek's Disease.

Notes Mr. Gilley's career at Red Hat Poultry/ConAgra Foods from 1965 to 1995, where he served as Bird Health Director and addressed major poultry diseases including Pullorum and Mycoplasma across Alabama and Georgia operations.

Acknowledges Mr. Gilley's post-retirement work with the Coffee County Extension Service and Auburn Poultry Science Department to develop composting methods for dead-bird disposal.

Honors Mr. Gilley as an incredible leader whose knowledge, diligence, and selflessness have inspired many in Alabama agriculture.
