Congratulates and commends Herb Malone upon his retirement as founding President and CEO of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Tourism after serving since 1993.

Recognizes Malone's leadership in developing the Alabama Gulf Coast into a year-round tourism destination that welcomes six million visitors annually to an area with only 18,000 full-time residents.

Acknowledges Malone's service as President and CEO of the Alabama Gulf Coast Area Chamber of Commerce from 1988 to 1993 and his multiple leadership roles with coastal business and tourism organizations.

Highlights Malone's accomplishments including leading the Gulf Coast economy through natural disasters (Hurricanes Ivan, Katrina, and Sally, and the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill), and creating the Alabama Coastal Connection Scenic Byway, Coastal Birding Trail, Mobile Bay Civil War Trail, and Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Sports Commission.

Directs the legislature to deliver a copy of the resolution to Malone and urges him to take time during retirement to appreciate the area he helped develop.
