State employees receive a 2 percent salary increase effective with the first pay day on or after October 1, 2023.

Increase applies to classified and unclassified service employees, judicial personnel, legislative personnel, county health department employees under the State Merit System, and all hourly employees of the state.

Cost-of-living increase does not apply to local supplements for judges or employees whose salary is tied to state employees, and does not apply to employees covered by labor agreements or contracts.

Director of State Personnel Department, Administrative Director of Courts, and legislative leadership shall revise pay schedules and certify the increase to the State Comptroller, who shall issue warrants accordingly.

Required appropriations shall be made through the annual budget act for affected entities; act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
