Law enforcement agencies must submit annual reports by April 1st containing data on new sexual assault cases reported, cases with medical forensic evidence submitted for analysis, cases where evidence was not submitted with reasons, and cases closed due to judicial or investigative reasons.

The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences must submit annual reports by April 1st to the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency detailing the number of sexual assault cases received, completed, and in progress as of December 31.

The Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency must compile a summary report by May 1st each year and transmit it to the Chairs of the House and Senate Judiciary Committees containing all submitted data and contact information for any non-compliant entities.

The act becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
