Renames the Red Mountain Greenway and Recreational Area Commission to the Jefferson County Greenways Commission under Alabama Code Sections 9-14C-2 and 9-14C-8.

Preserves all existing powers, duties, property, personnel, functions, and liabilities of the commission; all legal references to the old name are deemed references to the new name.

Commission retains its mission to acquire, establish, operate, and maintain land and buildings in Jefferson County along Red Mountain in Birmingham as a greenway, recreational area, alternative transportation route, and historic site.

Commission employees remain non-state employees but retain eligibility to participate in state employee insurance and retirement/pension programs with employer contributions paid from commission funds.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval; passed by House on May 2, 2023 and Senate on May 24, 2023.
