• Sheriff of Morgan County may establish procedures to use credit cards or debit cards issued to the office for purchasing tangible personal property and services.

• Sheriff must adopt written policies including monetary limits on individual purchases and total monthly spending, with consideration given to the discretionary fund limit.

• Sheriff must implement control procedures requiring sole access to cards and security codes, accurate record-keeping of all purchases, monthly bill reviews for unauthorized charges, and timely full payment to avoid fees or interest.

• Sheriff shall select card providers considering annual fees, rewards or rebates offered, interest rates and late fees, termination penalties, and other relevant factors.

• Any rewards or rebates earned from card use shall be deposited into the Sheriff's Discretionary Fund of Morgan County; act became effective immediately upon passage and gubernatorial approval.
