• Authorizes the State Board of Genetic Counseling to conduct regular meetings via telephone conference, video conference, or similar electronic communications equipment with public access to observe or listen simultaneously.

• Electronic participation in board meetings counts as in-person attendance for purposes of establishing a quorum and satisfies Alabama Open Meetings Act requirements.

• Requires board members to participate in-person only for disciplinary action meetings, not electronically.

• Authorizes the board to make grants to qualified individuals, institutions, or agencies to develop and promote genetic counseling training and continuing education programs for licensees.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval.
