Urges the State Board of Health to increase awareness of Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC), which accounts for 15-20 percent of all invasive breast cancer cases and has a less than 30 percent five-year survival rate for metastatic cases.

Identifies TNBC as disproportionately affecting younger women, Black and Hispanic women, women with type 2 diabetes, and those with BRCA1 mutations, with Black women having approximately two-fold higher mortality incidence than non-Hispanic women.

Calls for improved access to screening, diagnostic testing, and medical care and treatment, noting that limited treatment options exist due to TNBC cells lacking the three key receptors targeted by standard breast cancer medicines.

Directs delivery of the resolution to Dr. Scott Harris, the State Health Officer, and the State Board of Health.

Passed by the House on May 4, 2023, and adopted by the Senate on May 17, 2023.
