• Creates the Chronic Weight Management and Type 2 Diabetes Task Force to study health implications, costs, and treatments for obesity and type 2 diabetes in Alabama, where obesity and diabetes rates are among the highest in the nation.

• Task force composition includes 6 legislative members (2 House majority, 1 House minority, 2 Senate majority, 1 Senate minority), medical professionals, state insurance board executives, and business representatives, with two co-chairs appointed by legislative leadership.

• Task force shall study health implications and costs of chronic weight management and type 2 diabetes, and promote use of data to understand cost savings from prevention and reduction of these diseases.
