Creates the Chronic Weight Management and Type 2 Diabetes Task Force to study health implications, associated costs, and available treatments for obesity and type 2 diabetes in Alabama.

Task force composition includes 6 legislative members (2 House, 1 House minority; 2 Senate, 1 Senate minority), 1 licensed endocrinologist, 1 obesity medicine expert, the State Employees' Insurance Board CEO or designee, and the State Health Officer or designee.

Task force shall have two co-chairs appointed from House and Senate delegations, with first meeting required by December 30, 2023, and subsequent meetings held as necessary.

Task force duties include studying health implications and costs of obesity and diabetes, examining available health treatments, and analyzing cost savings from prevention efforts to inform decision-making.

Task force shall report findings and recommendations to legislative leadership by the fifteenth legislative day of the 2025 Regular Session, at which time it shall be dissolved.
