Three on a String, a bluegrass trio founded in 1971 by Bobby Horton (banjo), Jerry Ryan (guitar), and John Vess (bass), is commended for induction into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.

The band performed for two United States Presidents and nearly a dozen symphony orchestras, and appeared on television including Tom York's Morning Show.

Three on a String has been inducted into the Birmingham Record Collectors Hall of Fame and the Alabama Bluegrass Hall of Fame, and recorded albums including self-titled debut, Mirth and Merriment, With Strings, Best of Friends, Going Places, 20 Years, 1994 Plus Tax, 25th Anniversary, and Merry Christmas.

The Legislature of Alabama dedicates this resolution to the band with admiration and extends best wishes for continued happiness and success in future endeavors.

House passed the resolution on April 6, 2023; Senate adopted on May 3, 2023.
