Colonel Keith H. Lewis is commended and honored for his many years of dedicated service to his country and the United States Air Force.

Colonel Lewis was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1940, enlisted in the Air Force on November 1, 1963, and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on March 31, 1964; he completed pilot training and earned his wings in May 1965.

He served as an F-4 Phantom II pilot deployed to Cam Ranh Bay Air Base, South Vietnam from December 1965 to October 1966, and later served as Base Protestant Chaplain at Lackland Air Force Base (1976-1978) and Center Staff Chaplain at Lowry Air Force Base (1990-1993) before retiring on August 1, 1993.

Colonel Lewis was a Prisoner of War in North Vietnam and earned a Bronze Star Medal with Valor for his heroic actions and selfless care of a seriously wounded fellow prisoner.

Following retirement from the Air Force, he served as Rector of Saint Mary's Episcopal Church in Jasper, Alabama (1993-2007) and has served as Rector of Good Shepherd Anglican Church in Jasper since November 2010.
