Ms. Gwendolyn Denice Richardson is commended for her induction into the 3rd Class of J.F. Shields/Monroe County Training School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Ms. Richardson graduated as Valedictorian from J.F. Shields High School in 1976 and earned recognition including selection to "Who's Who Among Music Students in American High Schools" and the 1976 Betty Crocker Family Leader of Tomorrow award.

She has served as Monroe County Commission Administrator for over 20 years as the first Black person hired in the position, leading the office's transition from paper-based to fully computerized systems.

Ms. Richardson held multiple leadership positions in the Association of County Administrators of Alabama (ACAA), including President in 2008, and received the John Gordon County Administrator of the Year Award.

The House of Representatives recognizes her as an inspiration and leader of steadfast dedication throughout Alabama and beyond.
