Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, was founded at Howard University on January 9, 1914, by three African American male students and has grown into an international organization with more than 125,000 members in 650 chapters across the United States, Switzerland, and Africa.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, was founded on January 16, 1920, at Howard University and achieved several firsts as a National Pan-Hellenic Council organization, including first to centralize national headquarters, first to charter a chapter in Africa, and first to be constitutionally bound to a fraternity.

Both organizations maintain an authentic brother-sister association and work together to promote systematic fellowship, African American self-determination, justice, equal rights, and service to all humankind.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority has more than 125,000 members in 800 chapters across the United States, Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean.

The House of Representatives of Alabama commends both organizations for their service in their communities and nationwide, dedicating this resolution to them with utmost admiration and best wishes for continued success.
