Congratulates Pamela Nichols for winning the 2023 Alden Kindred of America Speak for Thyself Award, which honors women who make their own choices and create better lives for themselves and their communities.

Recognizes Nichols' 30-year career in health care where she developed pioneering programs including WorkWise, Eldercare (Alabama's first senior health services membership program), and Health Advantage (including Alabama's first HMO Medicare supplement).

Acknowledges her co-founding and directing of Honor Flight Birmingham in 2007, a nonprofit that flew nearly 1,000 World War II veterans to see the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., earning a 2009 Freedom Foundation George Washington Medal of Honor.

Highlights her service as Chair of the Support Committee for the Alabama National Cemetery since 2018, where she raised $600,000 for the Scenic Overlook Memorial Project and coordinated placement of nearly 10,000 wreaths through the Wreaths Across America program.

Notes her continued volunteer work for veterans and senior citizens, including receiving a Gold 500+ Hours Presidential Volunteer Service Award from Shelby County in 2022.
