Amends Section 12-17-81 of the Code of Alabama to establish new salary provisions for circuit clerks in the Unified Judicial System effective January 2025.

Circuit clerks newly taking office on or after January 2025 shall receive salaries starting at step one of pay grade 86 of the Unified Judicial System pay plan, with annual increases by one step until reaching the maximum step.

Circuit clerks already serving in office prior to January 2025 and continuing to serve in pay grade 84 shall be transitioned to the corresponding step in pay grade 86 of the pay plan.

Local supplements provided to circuit clerks are preserved and cannot be increased or decreased by this act; state salaries cannot be diminished.

The act becomes effective with the next term of circuit clerks beginning in January 2025, following passage and approval by the Governor.
