• Design professionals without professional liability insurance must provide written disclosure of this fact to clients before entering into any verbal or written service agreement.
• Clients must sign the disclosure and have it notarized before the design professional may perform any work.
• Adds Section 41-9A-3.1 to the Code of Alabama 1975 to enforce this disclosure requirement.
• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
