AL SB25

Grants the Board of Physical Therapy jurisdiction over physical therapists and physical therapy assistants licensed in other states who hold compact privileges to practice in Alabama.

Adds definitions for "compact privilege," "compact privilege holder," and "commission" to the Board's regulatory framework, establishing the Physical Therapy Compact Commission as the national administrative body.

Expands the Board's duties to include oversight of compact privilege holders in disciplinary matters, fee collection for issuance of compact privileges, and maintenance of licensure lists that include those granted compact privileges.

Extends the Board's impaired practitioner program and wellness committee functions to cover both licensed physical therapists and compact privilege holders, including evaluation, treatment, and monitoring of impaired professionals.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and Governor approval.
