Proposes a constitutional amendment allowing mayors of municipalities in Geneva County to participate in the Employees' Retirement System of Alabama on the same terms as other employees in that system.

Permits mayors holding office at the time of ratification to purchase service credit in the retirement system for their time served in the current office.

Prohibits individuals from participating in both a supernumerary program and the Employees' Retirement System based on the same service.

Requires an election on the proposed amendment in accordance with Sections 284 and 284.01 of the Alabama Constitution and state election laws.

Passed the Alabama Senate on May 17, 2023 and the House of Representatives on May 23, 2023.
