Designates the Alabama State Highway Route 158 bridge spanning Lott Road in Mobile County as the Melvin E. Pierce Memorial Bridge.

Melvin E. Pierce was a lifelong Semmes, Alabama resident who founded Melvin Pierce Painting in 1972, which grew into one of the largest paint companies in the South, and expanded to include marine coatings, sandblasting, and highway maintenance operations.

Pierce was a founding member of Friends of Semmes (leading to the town's incorporation), the Dixie Youth Baseball Program, and helped establish the Christmas Parade, Azalea Festival, Easter Egg Hunt, and food pantry in Semmes.

Pierce received multiple civic awards including the 2003 Award of Gratitude from Semmes Community Park, 2005 Woodmen of the World Outstanding Citizen Award, 2007 Ronald McDonald Award, and served as Grand Marshal of the Semmes Christmas Parade in 2009.

The Department of Transportation is requested to coordinate with local governing officials to fabricate and erect appropriate signs or markers recognizing the bridge designation in compliance with applicable requirements and laws.
