Commends John and Ann Boutwell for receiving the inaugural 2023 Daniel Pratt Industrialist Award established by the City of Prattville Industrial Development Board to honor visionary business leaders and organizations.

Recognizes the Boutwells' efforts beginning in the early 1990s to preserve the history of Daniel Pratt, Alabama's first industrialist who introduced the Industrial Revolution to the South.

Acknowledges their instrumental role in 1996 to revitalize historic downtown Prattville and their leadership of the 1999 Daniel Pratt Alabama Year of Industry Celebration featuring exhibits, contests, and concerts.

Credits their perseverance, determination, and community commitment as essential to preventing the loss of Daniel Pratt's vision and enabling downtown growth including The Mill Apartment Complex development.

Resolution passed by both houses of the Alabama Legislature on April 6, 2023, expressing deepest admiration and appreciation with sincere best wishes for future endeavors.
