Commends Senator J.T. "Jabo" Waggoner on his historic 50th year of service to the Alabama Legislature.

Senator Waggoner served in the Alabama House of Representatives from 1966 to 1983 and has served in the Alabama Senate for nine consecutive terms since 1990, making him the longest-serving member of the Alabama Legislature.

Recognizes his service as Senate Minority Leader from 2002 to 2010 and Senate Majority Leader from 2010 to 2014, and his current committee assignments including Chair of the Rules Committee.

Acknowledges numerous awards received including the Ronald Reagan Lifetime Achievement Award (2012), Alabama State Council of the Arts Legacy Award (2013), and Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Distinguished Alabama Sportsman Award (2019).

Notes his extensive service on community boards and organizations including Faulkner University Board of Trustees, Birmingham Business Alliance, and 50-year membership in Civitan International.
