• Alabama Legislature urges the President of the United States to enact policies supporting continued offshore oil and natural gas leasing and development, including initiating a Multi-sale Environmental Impact Analysis and issuing a five-year leasing program for 2024 and beyond.

• Offshore oil and natural gas provide over 15 percent of U.S. energy supplies, support over 300,000 jobs, and contribute $4-5 billion annually to federal and state treasuries.

• Alabama has received $188.5 million in royalties since 2009 under the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act of 2006, including $34.8 million in 2022.

• U.S. offshore production funds the Land and Water Conservation Fund, which has provided $163 million to Alabama over five decades for conservation and preservation programs.
