Honors Mr. John Allison Teague, Sr., born July 9, 1944, in Childersburg, Alabama, for his numerous professional achievements.

Recognizes his service in the Alabama House of Representatives representing District 55 (1974-1976) and Alabama Senate representing District 19 (1976-1986), including his election as President Pro-Tempore in 1983 and Most Outstanding Senator in 1984 and 1986.

Documents his board memberships and awards including charter member of Alabama Motorsports Hall of Fame (1975-1987), Troy State University Board of Trustees (1980-1992), Lyndon Baines Johnson Political Freedom Award (1984), and CIT Rebuilding America Award (1988).

Recognizes institutions and landmarks named in his honor: The John Teague Scholarship Award at Central Alabama Community College (1984), John A. Teague Bridge over the Coosa River in Childersburg (1987), and John A. Teague Student Center at Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind (1989).
