Joseph P. Borg is commended for 29 years of service as Director of the Alabama Securities Commission, beginning in 1994 and serving continuously in that role.

Mr. Borg was born November 20, 1952, in New York and holds a Bachelor's Degree from City College of New York and a Law Degree from Hofstra University School of Law.

Mr. Borg served as the only person elected to three terms as President of the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) and held multiple leadership positions including NASAA Board member, Chair of International Committee, and Chair of Enforcement.

Between 1997 and 2018, Mr. Borg testified before United States Congress Senate and House Committees on matters including securities fraud, white collar crime, and regulatory effectiveness.

Mr. Borg served as Adjunct Faculty for 20 years teaching UCC, Banking, and Securities Law, and represented State Securities Regulators to address federal preemption of state securities laws.
