Increases the intrastate air-mile radius from 75 to 150 air-miles for commercial motor vehicle drivers operating within their normal work reporting location under Alabama's intrastate hours of service regulations.

Maintains the 12-hour driving limit and prohibition on driving after 15 consecutive hours on duty for drivers operating within the 150 air-mile radius.

Maintains the prohibition on driving for any driver who has been on duty 70 hours in seven consecutive days.

Requires all motor carriers operating under this variance to have a satisfactory safety rating with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) or be unrated; does not apply to carriers with conditional or unsatisfactory FMCSA ratings.

Requires drivers to comply with federal record of duty status requirements under 49 C.F.R. Section 395.8 and maintain copies of duty records for the previous seven consecutive days while on duty; effective October 1, 2024.
