HB199 Summary

• Increases the Board of Pardons and Paroles membership from three to five members.

• Board membership must reflect the racial, gender, geographic, urban/rural, and economic diversity of the state.

• At least one member must be a current or former law enforcement officer with a minimum of 10 years' experience in investigation of violent crimes or apprehension, arrest, or supervision of perpetrators.

• Changes the quorum requirement from two to three members for conducting official board business.

• Effective date is October 1, 2024.
