AL HB211

Requires law enforcement to make a reasonable effort to notify a minor's parent, legal guardian, or legal custodian when citing a minor under 19 years of age for any traffic infraction.

Exception applies if the minor has been emancipated by court order or operation of law.

Prohibits imposing tort liability upon citing agencies or their officers, employees, or agents for notification efforts or failures.

Updates Section 12-12-56 of the Alabama Code regarding uniform traffic ticket and complaint procedures and recordkeeping.

Becomes effective on October 1, 2024.
