Amends Code of Alabama Sections 16-25-23 and 36-27-28 regarding the Teachers' Retirement System and Employees' Retirement System to allow court-ordered collection of criminal restitution, fines, court costs, and fees from retirement benefits.

Permits up to 25 percent of a retiree's or beneficiary's gross monthly benefit (less child support and health insurance deductions) to be diverted to pay criminal obligations, provided the restitution amount is at least $1,000 and the case is assigned to the district attorney's restitution recovery division.

Requires court orders to include specific information: individual's name, date of birth, Social Security number, detailed breakdown of amounts owed, case numbers, county, circuit clerk contact information, and the amount or percentage of funds to be collected.

Mandates the district attorney notify the court when obligations are paid in full, after which the court must issue an order to stop the diversion of funds; any overpayments must be returned to the retirement system within 60 days.

Takes effect on October 1, 2024.
