• Increases board authority to levy administrative fines up to $5,000 per day (max $25,000 total per violation) for serious violations and establishes civil penalties for unlicensed practice of architecture.

• Allows corporations, partnerships, professional associations, and limited liability companies to practice architecture if at least two-thirds of controlling members are registered architects (with at least one Alabama-registered) and maintains board oversight through annual administrative fees and public rosters.

• Creates "emeritus status architect" designation for architects with 10+ consecutive years of registration, age 65+, and retired from active practice, requiring no renewal fees unless they resume practice.

• Makes the State Board for Registration of Architects subject to Alabama's Sunset Law (Chapter 20, Title 41) and repeals annual reporting requirements.

• Effective October 1, 2024.
