Amends Alabama Code Section 36-27-8.2 to allow retired law enforcement officers and state policemen to work as police officers at state colleges and universities without losing retirement benefits, provided compensation does not exceed $52,000 per year.

Expands existing authority that already permitted such retired officers to work as school resource officers or correctional officers under the same $52,000 annual compensation limit.

Requires retired officers to have applicable Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training certification and have been classified as a law enforcement officer or state policeman prior to retirement.

Establishes a sunset provision ending employment eligibility under this provision on December 31, 2026.

Becomes effective on October 1, 2024.
