• Removes the Department of Defense tuition assistance cap and replaces it with a fixed tuition cap of $400 per semester hour for educational benefits under the Alabama G.I. and Dependents Educational Benefit Act.

• Applies the $400 per semester hour cap to children of deceased/disabled service members, spouses/widows of service members, and dependents of disabled veterans under Sections 31-6-4, 31-6-5, 31-6-6, and 31-6-11.

• Maintains a $1,000 per semester cap on books and fees reimbursement for all eligible beneficiaries.
