Permits individuals holding state, county, or municipal office to serve as uncompensated members on water, sewer, and fire protection authority boards.

Prohibits individuals who hold state, county, or municipal office from receiving compensation for serving as authority board directors.

Bars any individual who is an officer or employee of an entity with authority to elect or appoint a director from serving on the board.

Makes technical revisions and updates to Section 11-88-6 of the Code of Alabama 1975 regarding authority board governance and director qualifications.

Becomes effective October 1, 2024.
