Grants certified teachers with at least four years of prior experience as a paraprofessional or classroom teacher's aide one year of experience credit on the local salary schedule for every two years of such service in Alabama public schools.

Applies only to teachers who are issued a teacher certificate and hired into a certified position on or after June 1, 2024.

Experience credit is applied to the local teacher salary schedule established pursuant to Section 16-13-231.1.

Requires that prior experience as a paraprofessional or teacher's aide be in a public school in Alabama and completed before being hired as a certified teacher.

Becomes effective on June 1, 2024.
