Amends Section 16-47-11 of the Alabama Code to clarify the authority of University of Alabama System police officers as peace officers with statewide authority.

Establishes that university police officers' primary duty is enforcing law on institution-owned, leased, or licensed property, but may also enforce law when pursuing suspects from campus, making arrests for crimes committed on institutional property, or acting pursuant to agreements with other law enforcement agencies.

Prohibits university police officers appointed under Section 16-47-10 from entering classrooms to enforce traffic or parking citations.

Amends Section 36-21-49 to authorize state, county, municipal, and state college or university law enforcement agencies to make agreements and arrangements for cooperation and mutual assistance in law enforcement work.

Takes effect on June 1, 2024; passed by the House on April 9, 2024, and the Senate on April 25, 2024.
