Removes restrictions on when a district attorney's salary may be increased, allowing increases to occur during their term of office rather than only after term completion.

District attorneys serving on October 1, 2021, maintain their current salary structure at $1,000 less than the highest paid circuit judge and remain exempt from new salary provisions.

District attorneys appointed or elected after October 1, 2021, receive an initial salary of $140,000 with automatic increases of 7.5 percent after completion of their first, second, and third terms.

Protects compensation of district attorneys in service on October 1, 2021, from diminishment pursuant to Act 2021-441.

Becomes effective upon ratification of a 2022 Alabama Constitutional amendment allowing district attorney salaries to be increased during their term of office.
