• Effective June 1, 2024, the Perry County Coroner receives an annual expense allowance of $12,000, paid monthly from the county general fund, replacing all other expense allowances and fees.

• The $12,000 expense allowance expires at the end of the coroner's term serving on June 1, 2024.

• Beginning the next coroner term, the coroner shall receive an annual salary of $12,000, paid monthly from the county general fund as the only compensation provided.

• Repeals Section 45-53-60 of the Code of Alabama 1975 and Act 91-361 of the 1991 Regular Session relating to prior coroner expense allowances.

• Act becomes effective June 1, 2024.
